Music Instrumental Programme
Learning a musical instrument offers a variety of benefits to the developing brain that no other skill can and we believe that it is a wonderful opportunity to build strength of character, discipline, creativity and a strong sense of self. As such we are very pleased to be able to offer a range of Instrumental Music lessons for all students at Emmaus.
The following opportunities are available for students in our Instrumental Programme:
Lessons offered are 20 minutes or 30 minutes depending on the age of the child; sometimes a shorter lesson is more appropriate for Junior Primary students.
The cost is $22 for 20 minutes and $30 for 30 minutes.
We are very pleased to be able to offer Instrumental Hire options for those students who would like to learn an instrument but do not have one at home. This applies to all of the instruments named above and includes maintenance and repairs and avoids the large upfront cost of parents purchasing before the student knows if they actually like playing!
If your child is interested in learning a musical instrument, please fill out the Music Instrumental Lessons form and return it to the Front Office.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact:
Please note that while we endeavour to offer every instrument listed above, some minimum numbers may apply and not all requests can be fulfilled immediately.
We are excited to partner with your child on this amazing musical journey!
All students in years 3-6 learn the ukulele as part of their classroom music programme. The Emmaus ukulele band is open to all students in years 3-6. The band practises before school each Wednesday and students in the band are encouraged to purchase their own ukulele to enable them to practise at home.
Students from year 4-6 are invited to join the Festival Choir. The choir which meets each week for practice, is led by our Music teacher, Amelia Eagle. The Emmaus Festival Choir performs every year at the Catholic Schools Music Festival in the Festival Theatre.
Whole School Concert
Every second year, Emmaus Catholic School presents a Whole School Concert. Every student in the school participates in this performance which is held at the Hopgood Theatre at Noarlunga. Our next concert will be held in 2020!
