Q: Do we have to be Catholic to send our children to Emmaus Catholic School?

A: No, all children are welcome at our school.

 

Q: Do we need to be married to send our child to Emmaus Catholic School?

A: No, Emmaus Catholic School welcomes and respects students from diverse family situations and backgrounds.

 

Q: When can our child start school?

A: Children commencing school at the beginning of the year must turn five on or before 30th April that year. Emmaus may offer a limited number of Term 3 placements depending on availability. These children must turn five on or before 31st October that year and will do six terms of Reception.

 

Q: Does Emmaus Catholic School have a programme for 4 year olds

A: Yes, our school offers a six month transition programme for children in the year prior to their commencement at school. Children come to school one morning a week for terms 3 and 4. Discover more about our Little Learners.

 

Q: What if I/we can’t afford to send our child/ren to Emmaus Catholic School?

A: We believe that every child is entitled to a Catholic education. Accordingly, we offer a low fee schedule to all families and further remission to those families experiencing financial hardship. Any family eligible for school Card, automatically qualifies for 40% off school fees.

 

Q: Does Emmaus Catholic School offer an Out of School Hours Service (OSHC)?

A: Yes, we offer a before school and after school care service. We also run an on-site vacation care service. Click here to find out more about our OSHC programme.

Q: Are parents welcome to join in with day to day school happenings?

A: Yes, at Emmaus parents are encouraged to get involved with their child’s learning and with the life of the school. Research shows that students achieve higher results when there is a strong home and school partnership.

 

Q: Does Emmaus Catholic School have a Sports Day?

A: Yes, every year in term one the four house teams: McAuley, Coolock, MacKillop & Marin play off for the School Cup and the Greg Simon ‘Team Spirit’ shield. Parents and friends are invited to be a part of the day and there is a BBQ and cake stall for everyone to enjoy.

A: Emmaus offers a range of After School Sports including: Football, Soccer, Basketball and Netball
